THE PREMIER DENOUNCED. “ A SCANDALOUS OLD RASCAL.” Melbourne, July 1 1 . An angry scene occurred in the Assembly, during which Mr Solly characterised Mr Bent’s administration as “ the most corrupt Victoria had ever had.” Mr Solly was ordered to retire from the Chamber. When allowed to return he witlv'.r.'w the remark, but that it was made to him snpwnter of the Government. TVtring the '.-vehement Mr Bennett denominated Mr Bent “scandalous old ra-eak” Subsequently he withdrew the remark, but asked for a Royal Co:.'minion to inquire into the pureh:- e -f the Chirnside estate as comipiion was whispered.
