Mr Deakin waa asked in the House of Representatives ,if he would place a sura on the Estimates for the families of the late Mr John Farrell and Mr Victor Daley, the well known journalists «nd poets. The Prime Minister said tha the guest ion of recognising in Aus’ tralia, as in Britain, the claims o f eminent literary men was worthy of consideration. Geniuses were few, and as during their lives they were rarely rewarded by any pecuniary remuneration, he thought they had a claim for consideration by the Government.
