Mr Hall-Jones has received a cable from Sir Joseph Ward, in Eondon, this morning, stating that a memorial service for the late Premier has been arranged for Tuesday next at St. Paul’s Cathedral. ENGEISH PREMIER’S INACTION. Eondon, June 16, Some surprise is expressed at Sir H. Campbell-Bannerman not asking the House of Commons express regret at the death of Mr Seddon. The following telegram has been received by Mr H. Austin, from Hon. Hall-Jones, in answer to expressions of sympathy extended re death of our late Premier:— “On behalf of Mrs Seddon her family and the Government I tender you grateful thanks for sympathetic message of condolence in the great and irreparable loss we have all sustained in the death of our loved Premier and honoured statesman. His life was a devotion to duty and the uplifting of humanity. His tender sympathies and wide consideration endeared him to all. No act of goodness was too small for him to render, no effort too great for his undertaking. His great and noble works for the colony and Empire will ever cause his name to be revered.”
