“ UNJUSTLY SENTENCED.”
The Taylor-Carrington Co. are ever popular with Foxton audiences, and this fact was plainly evidenced on Tuesday evening last, when the Public Hall was packed to overflowing to witness “ Unjusly Sentenced.” The plot, of the melodrama type, was founded In Australia, and the interesting situations throughout the staging were attentively followed by an appreciative audience. It was the same old thing, the hero wronged, trouble generally, and finally everything righted. As “Will Hazlewood,” Charley Taylor was himself, while Miss Ella Carrington impersonated the Australian Aboriginal boy to effect. Miss Muriel Murton as “Alice Jell” and Miss Marion Willis as a servant girl were both up to their usual standard. Other characters well - impersonated were: —“ Redjacket the Bushranger,” Mr Ward Lyons ; “An Australian Squatter,” Mr H. Nightingale; “A new chum Englishman,” Mr Edwin Green ; “A new chum Irishman,” Mr C. M. Keegan ; “ A Runaway Convict,” Mr G. W. Harvey; “A mad Hunchback,” Mr G. Paget; “Lynch,” Mr D. Logan; and “ Leader of Bushrangers,” Mr W. Powell. Other minor characters were in capable hands. Applause was continuous throughout the staging of the piece. We understand the TaylorCarrington Coy. pay a return visit to Foxton in about six weeks. They have also booked next race dates. „ THE CAUSE OF RHEUMATISM.
