Taylor-Carrington Co.
“ UNJUSTLY SENTENCED.”
This drama was recently produced by the Taylor-Carrington Coy. at the Princess Theatre, Dunedin, with most pronounced success. The characterisation of the drama is exceptionally strong, and includes such well-known types of Australian character as the swagsman, bushranger, assigned servant, English and Irish new chum, black tracker, etc. The comedy element is very strong, and serves to relieve the tension caused by the working of the powerful portions of the play. The scenic effects are very beautiful, and include several fine pictures of back-blocks scenen . Miss Carrington, as an Australian black boy, has a very fine character to impersonate, and Mr Charlie Taylor, as the assigned servant, has a part which suits him wonderfully well. This play will be staged at the Public Hall to-night. One night only.
