The manager stated the toll in such cases could be reduced to 4s per truck, it being understood that the waggons would only safely four tons. Reports. The Tramway Manager reported that the debit balance for last month's working after paying £22 8s for sleepers and £\h 16s 8d for repairs to the engines was £5 lis 1 id. A total of 224 second-class sleepers had been purchased at 2s each. It was advised a low price be offered Government for a “ D ” class car. During the month the total expenditure was £lO7 7s 3d, including wages ns 6d. Fares received totalled £5 15s id. Grain carried totalled 90 tons, and grass seed 14 tons, in addition to the usual general freight. The overseer reported that the Wirokino bridge had been inspected prior to being taken over from the Foxton Borough Council and found in a generally satisfactory state. The tender of T. H. Simpson at 4s Qd per yard was accepted for carting metal on the Main Drain road, provided no drays with less than gin tyres be used.
