In thanking you for your local mentioning me as a possible candidate for Mayor, I regret having to decline nomination at present owing to pressure of private business. I would therefore take this opportunity to thank a very la r ge number of ratepayers who have asked me to come forward. In concluding I hope someone will be elected who has time to devote to the business of the Borough, an 1 that the new Mayor will give the streets and footpaths his first and special attention.
