St. Petersburg, April 25
Seven sham policemen,, one in the uniform of an officer of the gendarmerie, belonging to a fighting revolutionary organisation, obtained at the Central Prison of Warsaw the custody of ten important political prisoners, explaining that they were ordered to transfer them to the Citadel. When the prison van reached the outskirts of the town, the driver was chloroformed and the others, doffing their uniforms, escaped. London, April 25.
The Times, in emphazing the willingness of Egypt to agree to a mixed Commission to delimit the frontier of the Sinai Peninsula, provided the Turkish troops who have illegally ocaupied Tabah and Gabiah are withdrawn, warns the Sultan that he is making a dangerous experiment. The sooner he withdraws his illegal and provocative occupation the better. It was the settled resolve of all parties in Great Britain not to allow anybody to meddle and mar the great work accomplished in Egypt. Adrin Jones, the sculptor, has executed in bronze for the Prince of Wales a statuette of the famous racehorse Persimmon. It is intended as a present tor the King.
