A lost gold medal is advertised for. Finder please return to this office. Owing to the unsettled weather, the school sports had to be again postponed this afternoon. They will take place next Wednesday or the first fine afternoon after that date. A pearl and .amethyst brooch and photo pendant is advertised as lost. Finder please return to Levetfc’s Hotel. In our report of the cricket social on Thursday last, we inadvertently omitted the name of Mr Fred Martin as having been one of the medal winners. There was only one nomination for the office of Councillor —Mr S. Hickson —and Mr Alf. Fraser, Town Cleric, gives notice to-day that the gentleman in question has been duly elected to the position. At last we realise we are of some value. The Herald was not published on Tuesday, and there were over a hundred callers at our office yesterday for the unpublished issue. Bravo I Before Dr Bennett and A. Fraser, Esq., J.P.’s, yesterday morning, H. Webb and M. Cunningham were fined 5s for'insobriety. T. Ryan was eon victed and discharged. Charges against F. Dunn were adjourned. There is every likelihood of Sandon placing both a senior and a junior football team In the Foxton championships. Oroua Bridge are also considering the advisability of joining our section. Junior clubs should call their meetings I this we.jk and elect their delegates to 1 the Union. '1
