The Loan Proposal Carried.
Ratepayers must have felt very confident of the result of yesterday’s poll, for only about onefifth of those eligible recorded their votes with, the returning officer, Mr Alt'. Eraser. The proposal was carried by 44 votes to 6, there being only one informal vote.
When the result was made known, there was notan interested spectator to listen to the Town Clerk’s calling.
