St. Petersburg, March 24,
The Cossacks arriving at Sasovo by the Moscow-Kayan railway wantonly quarrelled with the peasants. Many Were injured and are now in the hospital. They whipped the assistant stationmaster to death.
A YEAR’S VICTIMS.
St. Petersburg, March 25
The official reports shows that 14,130 people were killed and 19,524 were wounded in the Russian disorders in 1905. The Russian newspapers assume that the Government has minimised the figures.
Fires have occurred in the Moscow prison hospital. In ex* languishing thenl the fact was revealed that political suspects are chained to beds by iron rings round the ankles.
A n unknown miscreant poisoned thirty-four spinning girls at Pabiance for refusing to strike. The floors of the workroom were strewn with poisonous powder, which the girls inhaled. Eleven have died.
