Copes Palace of Wonder’s & Vaudeville Coy.
A fair audience greeted the rise of the curtain at the Public Hall on Thursday evening, when Cope’s “ Palace of Wonders ” Coy. provided the entertainment. ‘ Paulus, ’ the King of Magicians, went through numerous slight of hand tricks, conjuring, and illusions which drew forth applause. ‘ ‘ The Walpoles,” sketch artists (lady and gent) proved themselves clever at their line of business. The lady has a splendid voice, whilst the gent made much out of his wonderful powers of mimicry. He imitated numerous instruments and animals in a manner which bespoke talent. Little Ivy Duprey, a little dot of four or five years, earned kudos for her singing of “ Rachael ” and a doll item. The Copes intend to make monthly visits to Foxton.
