Cope’s Palace of Wonders Variety Company.
We wish to draw the attention of our readers to the entertainment to be given in the Public Hall on Thursday night by the strongest ’ combination that has ever visited Foxton, when “ Panins,” the Prince of Magicians, will introduce the most sensational and startling illusions of the age. Among his illusions are “Etheria.” A modern miracle is the floating of a human being in space, undoubtedly the greatest of all mysterious; the “Prisoner” of the Bastile; the sensational dramatic illusion, “The Shadow of the Cross ” ; “Trilby,” the hypnotic wonder ; a lady being burnt alive in full view of the audience. As a Eedgerdemain artist, Paulus is said to have no equal. Recent reports speak in flattering terms of the ‘ ‘Walpoles, ’ ’ the American society sketch artists, who introduce mimicry in all its branches. All the other members are very highly spoken of, and we expect to see the largest audience that has ever been in the hall to witness the performance on Thursday night, as we feel assured’ it will be a treat seldom seen here.
