The Finger Print.
Auckland, March 19. Jami Kristacos, a Servian, has been committed for sentence on four charges of burglary. He brolce into the Catholic Bishop’s palace, the neighbouring convent, and the orphanage, also a private dwelling on the same night. The stolen jewellery was traced to the accused in two cases but the only evidence connecting him with the burglary at the convent was an impression of three fingers left on the window through which the thief obtained an entrance. When arrested Kristacos denied the charges, but after hearthe evidence, including that of a finger-print expert, who positively swore the window pane impressions were the prisoner’s, but pleaded guilty.
