FOXTON DEFEAT DEBATERS.

The match which had been played previously between the above Clubs and which the association recently ordered to be played again, took place yesterday afternoon in perfect weather. Both sides were fairly represented Spelraan being the principal absentee for the Debaters, whilst Foxton had to put up with the defections of W. Nye, Cunningham . and Alf. Morgan. Debaters, j winning the toss elected to bat' first, putting together 51, Mainwaring with 9 being the top notcher. We congratulate this j played on having broken a spell of bad luck. Alex Morgan bowled very well. Foxton started well and though at a time the game was very close yet the tail came to the rescue and they passed their opponent’s score by 20 runs more. L. Furrie with 29 playing a very attractive innings and his younger \ brother Ken made a lucky 13. In j their second venture the Debaters ' made 30 when time was called. 1 By this win Foxton team become the possessors of the Premiership and entitled to the medals. : Messrs Reads and Wilson again umpired satisfactorily.
