Foxton Cricket Association.
At a meeting of the Foxton Cricket Association held last evening there were present—Messrs Stiles (chairman), Bowe, Shadbolt, Reade, Mainwaring, and L. Fnrrie (secretary). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed Correspondence was read from the secretary of the Levin C.CJ intimating that he could not arrange a match before March roth.
The secretary reported that he had written to the secretary of the Oroua Bridge Club asking him to suggest a date for a match,- but that no reply had been obtained. The postponed match, Foxtcn v. Debaters, was set down for Wednesday, 7th Feb. It was also decided to arrange a match for Wednesday. 14th Feb,, when the Foxton Club will meet a combined team from Moutoa and Debaters, and the ladies will be asked to provide afternoon tea.
In the event of Debaters defeating Foxton, the final, Moutoa v. Foxton, was set down for Sat., Feb. 24th. On the motion of Mr Stiles, seconded by Mr Bowe, it was decided that a levy' of 5s towaj;djflfep' funds of the Association be jBISe jn each Club, the secretary havfng -eported that owing to the purchase of matting the funds had become exhausted.
The secretary £as asked to communicate with teams in Palmerston North and Shannon relative to matches.
Votes of thanks to the chair and to Mr Stiles concluded the business.
