HIDDEN AT RUSKIN’S INSTANCE. Eondon, February 2. A sensation has been caused in the art world by the announcement that twenty of Turner’.masterpieces, said to be unfinished Were concealed at Ruskin’s instance, when they had really been finished. The works are in oil, and are valued at a quarter of 0million sterling. They will be hung, and Will shortly be placed on exhibition, at the National Gallery. The Daily Telegraph describes the masterpieces as further indicating Turner’s last period.
