Imprisoned as a Spy.
A BRITISH MERCHANT’S EXPERIENCE.
London, December 22 Mr Joseph Geddes, a British merchant at Hongkong, who has just arrived in England, is petitioning the Foreign Office to obtain redress for his wrongful imprisonment as a spy in Manchuria. The Russians, he states, arrested him' at Mukden and kept him in prison for six mouths. He was frequently told that he would be shot the next day, but was eventually sent to Warsaw, where he smuggled a letter to the British Consul, who obtained his release.
