Massacre by Natives.
CREW OF A LAUNCH KILLED.
Port Darwin, December 16,
News has been received of a massacre on the Victoria river. The details, however, are meagre.
It is believed that a number of blacks attacked a Government bore (well-sinking) party, killing two of them. The party captured seven or eight of the natives and put them in chains. A launch owned by one Bradshaw arrived on the scene shortly after, and the crew undertook to convey the natives to Port Darwin.
After leaving, Bradshaw liad the irons removed from the natives. They immediately attacked and murdered the whole crew except a black boy. The names of the victims were: —Bradshaw, Eggeroff, Donnock, Skehan and four others.
