YORKSHIRE DEFEATED.
About thirty thousand spectators witnessed the match against Yorkshire. The New Zealanders made the pace warm from the start, tries being scored by Booth and Deans in quick succession. Hunter, a little later on, added a third. Wallace succeeded in converting the lost only. Before halftime, Deans twice more crossed the line, and Mynott got a sixth try. Wallace and Tjder each converted one, and at half-time the score was— New Zealand 24, Yorkshire o. In the second spell Booth and Huliiter (one each) and McGregor (two) fries scored, Wallace converting two. This made the score— New Zealand 40, Yorkshire 0.
At Wellington Town Hall to-morrow morning, if New Zealand defeat Wales the Colonial Ensign will be flown, while the Welsh colours will float if Wales are victorious. The New Zealand Rugby Union has suggested to the manager of the New Zealand team, says an exchange, that the team shall return by way of America, with the object of playing a series of exhibition matches injure States. The matter is to be re to the English Rugby Union, which at present has jurisdiction over oar representatives*
