Punishment of Criminals.
London, Nov. 24,
Samel Clarkson, a young man inheriting ,£60,000, sued Drucker and Morris, stockbrokers, alleging that he had been induced by misrepresentation to invest ,£46,000 in speculations, losing ,£33,000. Tile jury awarded him ,£17,000. The trial of the Fenigstens, principals in a large firm of Goswell Road, Finsbury, who were charged with receiving stolen property, has concluded. Alfred Fenigsteins was sentenced to five years and B. Fenigstein to eighteen months. The burglars, Andrevys and Conway, got three years in connection with the same cases.
New York, Nov. 26. Three Americans named Hulbert, Mitchell, and Harle, the first two being attorneys and the last named a doctor, have been sentenced to death at Chihuahua,
Mexico, for a number of murders,
perpetrated to cheat the New York Life Insurance Company. Harle poisoned the insurers while his accomplices collected the moneys under the policies. The trio will be shot next 'week.
