VL ADI VOSTOCK PILLAGED.
St. Petersburg, Nov. 15.
Incendiarism and pillage was begun at Vladivostock by the reservists, who were dissatisfied at not being disbanded. The greater part of the town has been destroyed. Three hundred rioters, mostly sailors and artillerymen, were killed and wounded on Monday. There are fears of famine.
A GENERAL STRIKE PROCLAIMED.
The Council of Labour delegates has decided to proclaim a general strike throughout Russia to-day (Wednesday). The reasons given for the strike are: (1) The sentencing to death of a number of the Kronstadt mutineers; (2) the delay in the fulfilment of the Imperial manifestos granting civic liberty; (3) the proclamation of martial law in Poland and Lithuania; (4) the disorders directed against the lower classes and the Jews; (5) and many other arbitary acts by the Government. RAILWAYMEN JOINING STRIKE. The strike has begun in the Baltic provinces and at Warsaw, the capital of Poland. The railwayman on other lines, including those of Finland, are joining in the strike.
Infernal machines have been discovered under the railway at Warsaw.

The Auckland Jews have appointed a committee to colject funds for the relief of distressed Jews in Russia. The President of the Synagogue has already received a first instalment of ,£l5O. for transmission to London.
