A meeting of Mr Stevens’ political supporters was held at Tokomaru on 31st October, and a strong committee was formed to work 04his behalf. Mr A. Seitert was unanimously elected chairman and secretary, and the committee decided to meet again on Friday, mill November, Several members of Mr Stevens’ Shannon Committee attended and gave their active assistance in the formation of the Committee, and succeeded in imparting some of their enthusiastic interest into its members.
