Manawatu Rowing Club.
The fifteenth annual! meeting of thr Manawatu Rowing Club was held ia the Racing Club’s rooms on Tuesday evening, when there were present— Captain Gower (in the chair), R* Moore (secretary), J. Overena (treasurer), and Messrs Stiles, Murray* Howaflj H use i Cook, Hill, Walker* Rav Bradspck, Gillespie,’Edwards* H y and Lewis: The annual report and balance*, sheet were rvad by the secretary, the - latter showing a credit balance o jfiia os rod in the Bank, as against £% x3s rod last year. The assets of the Club value £125 19s 3<k * was made in the report difficulty experience by the executive® in getting members of the'committee to attend meetings. It was stated that lowering the subscription had the cofif siderable effect of admitting members who weceindiffe ent as regards taking proper care of ihe Club’s property. Regret was expressed that in viewot the excellent facilities afforded by the proximity of the Manawatu River so little interest and support was accorded it, and desired to urge upon the mtfbi* bers and public generally the impoif tance and desirability of encouraging an institution which is so emmunitly adapted to this district. The following executive was then appointed:—President, Mr G. A* Simpson; Captain, Mr B. G. Gower vice-captain, Mr W. Howan; treasurer* Mr J. Murray; secretary, Mr E. J» Hill; committee, Messrs Gillespie* Ray. Marsh, and other officers. The first meeting of the newly 1 formed committee will be held at the secretary’s rooms at 8 fl'olock to* night.
