Our Local Industries.
We are pleased to notice that our worthy townsman, Mr R. H. Barber, is making great strides in his establishment. Besides making additions to his worksnops, he has a full stock of machinery on hand for fitting up flaxmills and engineering in all its branches. Directly under the supervision of himself, he has lately, in the coachbuilding department, turned out several vehicles that are quite a credit to the town. We have just inspected a handy vehicle made to the order of Mr G. Satherley, a combined creamery and handy farm spring cart, made painted by Mr H. Richmond, (who is in charge of Mr Barber’s coachbuilding department). It would well repay the inhabitants of Foxton and surrounding districts to give Mr Barber’s establishment a call before going;, to Palmerston or elsewhere in search of vehicles that can be made in this town quite as equal in finish and durability as in any of the larger centres, and thereby support local industries.
