Railway League.
A meeting of the recently formed Railway League was held in the Borough Council Chambers yesterday evening. Owing to the Masonic fume* fon at Levin and other engagements, only four members were able to attend, the Mayor (Mr B. G. Gower), and Messrs R, B. MacKeozie, F. W. Frankland, and R. Moore. The secretary read the inward and outward '•orre pondencc, including a letter from the Wellington Chamber o£ Commerce agreeing to receive a deputation from the League. It was resolved that tbe deputation, with representatives from the various local authorities in the district interested, should proceed to Wellington on Tuesday, the 26th September, to confer with the Wellington Chamber. Mr Frankland was elected a member of (iie League and agreed to accompany the deputation to Wellington on the 2fith.
