Foxton Rifle Club.
A meeting of the above Club was held at the Post Office Hotel last night. Present—Messrs G. Gray (in the chair), E. Howe, J. Gillespie, E. Wanklyn, Alf. Morgan, C. Rand, Alex. Morgan, and Geo. Morgan. Two new members were proposed and accepted, viz., J. Taylor and W. Main waring.
Proposed by G. Gray, seconded by E. Wanklyn, That Alex. Morgan be awarded ist prize, and leg in for Cup, and C. Rand 2nd prize in last competition.
It was resolved that the next competition for Cup and trophy the ranges he 200, 500 and 600yds. i'arried. Messrs Symons and the Misses Laing donated trophies for ist and 2nd prizes; winner to have pick; nominations (0 he in by Wednesday, the 20th, at 1 p.m.; handicaps declared on Saturday, 23rd inst.; com* petition to he finished on Sept. 30th. Re o’ved thnt Mr F Trie be asked to divide the Club into three classes, A, B, C, and handicap the same fot medal competition. Competition to start on 2nd October, and finish 7th dav of October ; nomination fee, xs, to be in by Sept, 30th, Propo :ed by Alex. Morg..n, seconded by Geo. Morgan, That a spotting disc be used in competitions. Carded. A vote of thanks to the chair, and to Mr Gray tor the use of the room, concluded i!m meeting.
