Borough Boundaries.
UGGGSTriD HfBTRICTL N OF AREA. Speaking at the Borough Council meeting last night Cr Gray asked if it would not be possible to reduce the area of the borough to a more workable size. Many of those living in the outskirts were not likely to assist in securing improvements such as water, light, etc., and the population near the centre of the town was larger now than when the borough was formed. The area might be reduced advantageously. The Town Clerk read the portions of the act bearing on the matter. Eventually Cr Gray moved, and Cr Moore seconded, “ That steps be taken to reduce the area of the borough to within about the boundaries, of the old town district.” This was carried.
