' —♦ . The social held lust evening in the Public Hall in aid of the organ fund of All Saints Church proved a very successful affair, being in fact the most satisfactory entertainment of the kind held for a number of years. At six o’clock tea was commenced, a large number of children and a fair eprinkb g of adults partakmg of the good things provided by the ladies *of the congregation. Later in the ‘ *vening a concert programme was submitted, when a large audience was present and testified its appreciated of the various items. Those ontributiog were as follows : Misses P. Fraser, Williams, and Hamer, •ongs (the latte, two being encored); Me dames domett and J Rob : n on, pongs; Messrs A. Harper, B. Shadbolt, P. Howe, and Hankins, songs, Mr Hankins also gave a humorous recitation for which he was recalled Some selections on a phonograph kindly lent by Mr Hankins were wel received. 'Wand drill by a squad of girls, under the direction of Mrs : Stewart and Miss Wanklyn came in for hearty applause. Accompaniments wore played by Mrs 3. Symons and Misses Fume and Williams, and an overture was ■ played by Miss Amy Jenka, and encored- Kev. H F. Wilson, in a few well chosen remarks, thanked all present for their hearty assistance, especially all those ladies who had made the tea such a success, and the gathering broke up at about 10 ©’clock.
