The Manawatu Seat.

MR. FRANKLAND RETIRES,

While in Marten yesterday for the purpose of addressing the electors there, Mr. F. W. Frankland, who recently came forward as an Independent Liberal candidate for the Manavvatvi seat, decided to retire from the contest. This step was taken in consequence of reppresentations from his party, as being politic in the best interests thereof.
