MORE ABOUT WATER.
Skvukal weeks ago Mr (Tko. Cou;y offered to provide an engine, free of cost, fir the purpose of testing the artesian flow at the Avenue Road well. A suitable pump was also available, it was understood, yet nothing has so far been done. It seems unfortunate that advantage should not have been taken of such an offer before this. Mean'ime the water question seems to be quietly drifting into the haven of oblivion, except among those people who are unfortunate enough to have to carry water for domestic purposes, a necessity which even now exists in some cases, When will the Borough Council seriously consider the several matters included in the “ Progressive ” ticket on v/high members were elected ? It is true that a visit is to be paid tomorrow to the sits of the proposed well at Jlie railway cutting, but that is only a very small move, and judging by the advance (?) made so far lit; le will have been accomplished by the time the next election arrives.
