CONDUCT OF A GERMAN BRIGADE. SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS. Bernin, June 28. Herr Kunert, a Socialist member of tt'he Reichstag, has been sentenced to three months’ imprisonment for delivering a speech at Halle declaring that the German East Asiatic Brigade during the Boxer troubles in igoo de vastated land, and plundered and violated women. Members of the brigade testified to •Mdiera pillaging, desocrating graves and temples, and outraging women, and to officers looting. Herr Kunert was sentenced on the ground that he had libelled the whole army. The Court held that outrages •uch as those; mentioned in the evi* dence were bound to occur in time of warfare.
