The Weather.

T'ie unusually heavy rain experienced during the past few days appears to have been general, and from many centres reports come ot floods being threatened. A heavy frost last night seemed to indicate belter things for to-day, but the result has proved extremely unpleasant. At Woodville yesterday the Manawatu was coming up with great rapidity and hid reached the level of th a road near the Gorge. There was every prospect that a very serious flood would occur. R 'ports are current there are serious slips on the railway line at Taihape.
