DOUBTFUL REPORTS. RUSSIANS SAID TO DESIRE PEACE. JAPANESE ACTIVITY. London, May 23. It is reported In St. Petersburg that Admiral Rozhdestvensky has died and that bis body was committed to the deep off Honkohe Bay. It is further reported that Admiral Diebogatoff, though ill, Is assuming the command. The report lacks official confirmation. The whereabouts of the Baltic fleet is still unknown. The “ Times ’* St. Petersburg correspondent reports that the peace sentiment is so overwhelming that in the event of Rozhdestvensky’s defeat the warlike minority must give way. It Is reported at St. Petersburg that General Linevitch has telegraphed that the Japanese have begun an offensive movement all along the line,
