The funeral of the late Mr Liddell was very largely attended on Tuesday, almost every old settler in the district following the cortege. Several visitors were present. The funeral of the late Mrs Murphy took place yesterday afternoon, and was largely attended. Father De Lach read the burial rites et the graveside.
Mr John Holmes was in town fora few hours to day, ia connection with flax matters. He is earnestly endeavouring to get miller* to move in the direction of exploiting new markets and growing flax on waste lands of the colony.
Bro. Fox, who is at present in the hospital in Palmerston North, is progressing favourably, and is in the course of a few days to undergo a further operation for a throat affection. At the meeting of parishioners last week, a letter was read from the Brother, expressing regret at his inability to be present, and wishing a successful period of labour for All Saints during the current year. A vote of sympathy to the sufferer was passed unanimously.
