More J’s.P. Wanted.
TO TFB KDTTOB OF THE MANAVTATU HERALD. Sir,— l. think i! is about time that there should be more justices of the Peade tor FoMcm. Since the death of the lata Mi’ Thynne and the departure of Dr Bennett virtually the work of the court has fallen upon Mr Fraser and our late Mayor, Mr Simpson. With his retirement from office, Mr Gower, his succeessor, will doubtless be appointed, bitt the last named, I anticipate, will riot alvvays.be so handy* I'he other j.P. is Mr Ivobinsori, tfho lives at Himatangi, and is not a regular visitor to the town. I would suggest that our member, Mr Vile, should interview the Minister for Justice with a view of recommending the permanent appointment of Messrs G. A. Simpson and F. W. Frankland. 1 have spoken to both thesegentlemen, as well as otherleading citizens, on the subject,_ and they have signified their' willingness to accept the honamr if conferred upon them.—l am, etc., ■Lawrence E.
