Foxton Rifle Club

A well attended meeting of the club was held last evening at the Post Office Hotel, Mr G- H. Gray presiding. A protest lodged by S. Savelle igainst (ha score of Frank Shadbolt, winner of the “ A ” Class trophy in the first competition, on the ground of an alleged irregularity in nomination, was not sustained. At present, it was pointed ont. the club was awaiting "otitication of its acceptance by the Government as a Defence Forces Club, and until then nothing could apparently 1)0 done. Replies to previous inquiries had been to the effect Ibal the Defence Department had no rifles available for distribution. Winners of trophies in completed competitions may obtain them on application to the secretary.
