Primitive Methodist Church.
An enjoyable social gathering was held in the Primitive Methodist Sunday School room last evening for the purpose of publicly welcoming the Rev. J. and Mrs Featherstou to their new charge. There was a large gathering, presided over in a happy manner bv Mr Walter Harris, who in a few neatly worded remarks extended a welcome to the new minister on behalf ot the church, to which the Rev. Featherston replied in a suitable strain. A committee ot ladies had arranged a supper, which was handed round to the evident enjoyment of all present. A programme of musical and other items was also rendered during the evening, when the following items were contributed : Pianoforte selections by Misses Webb, Howorth, and Furrie; voeal items by Misses Haywood (encore), Mesdames Howorth and Gilmore, of Shannon (encore); glee by Misses Austin (e), and Simpson; euphonium solo by Mr R. T. Betty, recitation by Mr Marshall.
