STILL SPREADING. TERRIBLE STORIES FROM BALTIC PROVINCES. St. Petersburg, April 10. The Grand Duke Sergius left twenty million sterling. His widow receives three millions. -The Russian newspapers are filled with tales of the pillage of manors and granaries, arson and murderous outrages in the Baltic provinces, Tereschenko’s sugar refineries were burnt, and damage to the extent of four million roubles caused. The Governor of Libau was fired at, but was not hurt. During prayers at the high school at Romny the Czar’s portrait was blown up and four pupils injured. Socialists killed a doorkeeper at Warsaw because he turned informer. A state of anarchy continues.
WHOLESALE ARRESTS, MANUFACTURERS RECOMMEND REFORMS. St. Petersburg, April 11. There have been fresh disturbances the Putiloff works. Five hundred peasants have been arrested at Viteisk. | A conference of manufacturers from the southern towns of Russia recommended that the workers be allowed to hold meetings unattended by representatives of the Government; also, the formation of conciliation boards, the introduction of State insurances and other reforms.
