Dr O'Brien, ot Palmerston North, was in town last evening. Mr Alf. Fraser, J.P., has been appointed coroner far Foxton and district. Mr Ash, of Palmerston North, has been appointed temporarily to act as stationmaster at Bainesse. Mr E. Howan. who recently suffered an injury by which he had one or two ribs broken, Is so far recovered that he is able to get about again. Mr J. T. M, Hornsby has been chosen as the Liberal candidate to contest the Wairarapa seat at the general election. Mr Armstrong, of Palmerston North, who takes a keen interest in the beach railway project, yesterday visited the suggested routes of the line, in company with Mr G. Nye. He expressed the opinion that there should be no difficulty in securing the desired end if all parties pulled together, as the line should not be expensive to build.
