Woods-Wiliamson Company.

TO-MORROW EVENING. At the Public Hall to-morrow (Friday) evening, the popular WoodsWilliamson Company will make their farewell appearance (prior to their departure for America), when they will present W. S. Gilbert’* famous comedy “ Pygmalion and Galatea.” Referring to the production of this brilliant comedy, the “Wellington Post” says Mr Alfred Woods as Pygmalion, an Athenian sculptor, at whose prayer the gods gave life to the masterpiece, the statu* Galatea, gave a vigorous interpretation of an artist torn between the love of the createt and the love of the husband. Miss Williamson as Galatea entered into the character of the simple maiden with no knowledge of conventionalities, but with a keen intellect and bright intelligence, and gave to her every word and movement a feeling that dovetailed into the hypothesis on which she played. Her pose at the statue was remarkably good, whilst the support accorded the two principals by the other members of the company was excellent.” The box plan for reserved seats is now on view at Mr Fraser's stationers shop, so intending patrons are advised "to book their seats early as a crowded house is sure to bid the popular artists farewell.
