A London cable states that Mr Harry N. Piilsbury, the American r.’brtss player (who won the world's championship in 1895), is suffering from delirium, following an operation. He is in a serious condition. Master Gus. Levett, while riding a pony at his parents’ residence, the Manawatu Hotel; on Tuesday, fell to the ground and broke Ilfs arm. Dr Rogers' attended to the injured lad, who is now progressing favourably. General Booth, accompanied by Commissioner Nicol, Colonel Lawley and Major Keys, arrived at Fremantle yesterday by the steamer Victoria after a trying passage, in good health. He received hundreds of congratulatory telegrams. The General will proceed to Melbourne and thence to New Zealand, where he remains for three weeks, opening a campaign at Invercargill. Mr M, J, Brennan, a well-known figure in Taranaki, who for the past eleven years has controlled the destinies of the “ Opunake Times,” is retiring into private life, and is taking up pastoral pursuits, Mr Brennan has taken an active part in many public matters, and his efforts have been ever directed for the good of the district. Mr G. P. Armstrong, his late partner, now assumes full proprietorship of the "Tunes,’'
