Foxton Rifle Club.
The meeting of the Rifle Club at Laing’s Hotel last evening was graced by a good attendance ol members, Captain'd). Austin presiding. Four new members were elected. It was decided to divide the club into three classes, A, B, C, for the firing coin petitions for trophies presented. Messrs W. Nye, A. Walsh, M. Newth, F. Martin, and the Captain were made a selection committee. The secretary was instructed to write the Himatangi Club for a return match to take place on April sth, ten men a side, the conditions and range as usual. The competitions for the trophies will commence next Saturday, Ist April, and continue to the 17th, the prizes being distributed as follows: Mr Walker’s trophy Ist prize in A class, Mr C. Barnard’s trophy Ist in B class, md Ah Pat’s trophy Ist in C class. The members of the Club being other wise occupied, it was resolved that the cricket match with the Old Boys be deferred for the present,
