WOOL, SKIN, AND HIDE SALE. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Limited, at their monthly sale of wool, skins, and hides offered twenty bales and numerous small lots of wool, 900 skins, and 350 hides. Buyers were present in good numbers and competition was brisk. Quotations: — Wool: —Crossbred yd., rough sorts to 6sd., lambs’ wool, 6i|d. to pieces up to 6£d., locks, xfd. to 3jd., dead wool 4d. to 4fd., scoured locks, 6£d., scoured pieces y|d., black wool, sd. Skins:—Merino full wooled yjd., crossbred 6£d., lambs yd., bare pelts is. 2d, to is. xxd., well wooled pelts, sfd., salted pelts 2s. id., salted lambs, as. 6J. Hides :—Best ox, medium weights up to 255. 6d., others 20s. to 235., cut and slippery, up to 19s. 6d., cow’s best up to 17s. 6d., others (badly flayed) 12s. to 14s. 6d., calves 2kin. 36. 4d. to 4s. xod., others 2s. Bd. to 35., yearlinss 7s. 6d. to 6s. 3d., horse hides to 7s. gd. Horns Id. each. DALGETY AND CO.’S REPORT Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, Wellington, have received the following cablegrams from their London office, dated Bth March : “ Since our last telegram extra mutton tallow is unchanged. Other descriptions of tallow are lower by 3d. to 6d. per cwt. The wheat market is lower. Wool sales continue firm without further change. For greasy good merino wools, prices are on a par with closing rates of last series, and for greasy, inferior, faulty, and earthy wools, and scoured faulty wools, prices are on the average fully 6 per cent, lower than closing rates of last series."
