A PROTEST FROM STUDENTS,
A GRAND DUKE ASSASSINATED,
ST. PETERSBURG, Feb. 17,
The students of Moscow University have resolved to discontinue their studies.
The medical students at Keiff University decline to proceed with their examination as a political protest.
LONDON, Feb. 17,
Private letters give details of horrible brutalities perpetrated at Mohikoff by the police on the pretext of quelling demonstrations in the streets. The victims are chiefly Jews. Several girls were flogged almost to death. A hundred men were cruelly injured and many were crippled. Twenty-five more of the factories at Lodge have been closed indefinitely, 40,000 workers being dismissed. ST. PETERSBURG, Feh. 17.
The Grand Duke Sergius was driving towards Kremlin, and when passing the Law Courts ho was passed by a sledge containing two occupants. One threw a bomb, blowing the carriage to pieces. Duke Sergius was killed instantaneously.
