Football Matters.

The Rugby season is almost upon us, and it behoves local followers of tho game to hold early meetings and decide as to their plan of campaign. It is the general wish that affairs should be managed capably, and in distinct contrast to last year. Therefore call yourselves together at once and make up your minds to become affiliated with either Horowhenua or Manawatu Unions. We would suggest Manawatu, and have no doubt that local enthusiasts will favour our proposal. You could still play off between yourselves, and if you wish, play a final with the winning Palmerston North team—that is, by Manawatu placing themselves into divisions, such as Taranaki. Otherwise you could become a distinct sub-union of ManaWatU, and decide your own trophies. However, we hope to see these matters gone into, and for the prosperity of the game, action taken which will place Foxton directly under the thumb of efficient management and strict rule.
