Manawatu Herald. TUESDAY, FEB. 7, 1905. Public Meeting.

At last night’s meeting of the Borough Band, it was decided that a public meeting should be called to consider ways and means of wiping off the Band debt. Something over £IOO constitutes their liability, and as the Band properties are fully vested in the Borough, and therefore the sole property of residents, it behoves us to do our utmost to help the deserving bandsmen out of difficulties. The holding of a bazaar seems to be the most feasible way of finding money, but that will bo for the meeting to decide. His Worship the Mayor will take the chair, and it goes without saying that there will be a large attendance of the public. A musical programme will be gone through by the Band prior to the meeting.
