ALLEGED UNSEEMLY CONDUCT.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE MAN AAV AT U HERALD' Sir, —Kindly afford space for denial of “ True Sport’s ” statement concerning unseemly conduct on the part of some of the spectators at the cricket match, Foxton v. Moutoa. I was a witness of the game, and can testify that nothing of the kind occurred. By a vigorous stretch of imagination, “True Sport” has apparently construed the enthusiasm of some of the onlookers into booting and jeering actuated by hostile motives. He should have looked longer before he leapt into print. I am, &c., Observer. Foxton, Jan. 20th, 1905. [We have had many denials of “True Sport’s” statement, and we are pleased to see “ Observer" use our columns in the above manner. What did really take place was legitimate barrack. Some mistake has taken place as to the identity of “True Sport,” and for the benefit of those who wish to know, we may state that “ True Sport ” is not a member of our staff.—Ed. M.H.j '
