— FOXTON RACING CLUB.

Should the weather hold good, the local race meeting on Monday and Tuesday next is bound to attract a large number of visitors. Special trains and trams are bound to be taken advantage of. Patrons can rely on getting a first-class luncheon on the course, the catering being in the hands of Messrs Langley Bros., the well-known caterers. The first race is timed to start at 12 noon, and as the different events have filled well, good sport should be witnessed. Caretaker Messena has everything looking in thorough order, and good times should be recorded. The Foxtou Brass Band, under Conductor Betty, has been engaged and will enliven proceedings daring the afternoon. The final gallops to-morrow morning should be the means of drawing a large number of early-birda to the scene of operations. All things considered, Secretary J. B. Wbyte should be able to reporta very successful gathering. Our special tipster selects the following to win the different events :

By “ Whitebait.” One of our local sports, who certainly has caught many a haul of fish with a net, hopes to catch another haul of filthy lucre on Monday by following his particular fancies. He predicts the following to be there or thereabouts at the business end Flying -Dalky or Kudu, Maiden Hurdles—Sammy. Cup—Rapids or Sunfish. Stewards —Shanks. Hack Hurdles—Grand Jnty or \thol Maid.
