On Wednesday next, a team picked from the Old Boys and Debating Society, will try conclusions with a team from Moutoa. THE AUSTRALIAN TEAM. LONDON, Jan. xo. There is general satisfaction at the inclusion of Darling in the Australian cricket team. Mr Warner, who captained the last team to Australia, considers the team very strong in batting. Mr Jessop thinks it is a fine all round combination and we will need all our resources to defeat it. MELBOURNE, Jan. n.
The Age says the cricket team is absurdly handicapped by the omission of Saunders because of the fear as to what English umpires would do. The Argus considers the only surprise is the inclusion of Darling, who was not a candidate. As to his fitness, there can be no doubt that bowling is the greatest weakness of the team.
